Day 11:

Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Cao Dai

Depart early for a fantastic day to explore Cu Chi tunnels and the incredible Cao Dai religion so that you can be at Cao Dai Temple before the followers come for noon mass. The tunnels of Cu Chi are an immense network used for hiding and fighting during combat and served as communication and weapon suppliers as the gateway to attack Saigon.
The tunnel systems were important to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces and helped counter the growing American military effort. On arrival at Ben Duoc Tunnels,  watch a documentary film, then explore the renowned fighting tunnels on foot, traps, bunkers, trenches and experience crawling a piece of the underground tunnels. Next, you continue travelling to Tay Ninh where the religion is found in 1926.  Cao Dai is an indigenous religion encompassing Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, and Taoism. This belief practice began in 1921 when a man received a vision of the Divine Eye, a powerful symbol to Caodaists today. Followers of the religion hold several documents as holy, and they have to wear the long dress at noon to pray. Followers are in white, and the pope, archbishop, cardinal, priest are in colourful clothing at noon mass. After watching the noon mass, you will have a chance to take plenty of photos before you enjoy lunch at one of the famous local restaurants. Then return to Saigon by vehicle in the afternoon.
