Day 2:

Dong Ha – Khe Sanh

In the morning, you will tour around the town and visit the highlight sites in town; Quang Tri Museum and Mine Action Visitor Center. The Mine Action Visitor Center in Dong Ha is a joint venture between the international NGO–operated Project RENEW and the Department of Foreign Affairs, providing visitors with constantly updated information on the devastation caused and heart-warming stories of recovery and survival.

Around 15 million tons of US munition were dropped over Vietnam between 1965 and 1975, and Quang Tri was most heavily bombed. There were at least 10% of bombs failed to detonate. Since 1975, this unexploded ordinance has been the cause of more than 100,000 injuries and fatalities, a large percentage of these victims were children.

After the visit, you continue travelling toward Khe Sanh on Ho Chi Minh road. Visit the Cam Lo Pagoda, and make a stop on the roadside to capture some photos and look over the Rockpile Hill before your journey continues to the well-known historic Khe Sanh Combat Base- Ta Con Military Airport. It opens for tourists with a museum and many artilery, warplanes, and military land and air transportations. Afterwards, take a short drive to Khe Sanh, check-in the hotel and dine with your guide in town.
