Saigon - Cai Be - Vinh Long - Can Tho
After meeting at the hotel, you will relax on an A/C van driving through the busy HCMC to Mekong Delta. The first-day ride starts in Cay Lay's countryside and ends up at Vinh Long town. You will ride on concrete paths along fruit gardens and villages with tiny concrete houses along the way before you cross the river and ride through many small islands. Stop for lunch at a local home on a small Island. In the afternoon, we continue our riding through Dong Phu and Binh Hoa Phuoc villages as we travel through An Binh Island and have a ferry crossing to Vinh Long town. Right here, your driver is waiting. We get on a van/bus to Can Tho city in the late afternoon.
Can Tho - Chau Doc
Your second day is very long because it is too far to ride. After breakfast, we check out for Chau Doc border town. A short boat trip lets you see the busy floating market in action. Then we ride on marrow country road to Phong Dien, a short break at the local coffee shop before we cycle on smooth paths and along river banks to Thoi Lai. You could see people selling timber, wooden boat building, rice husking mills, and daily river activities on your biking. We will have a short transfer after lunch to avoid getting heat and start to ride in the afternoon to explore many remote villages to Long Long Xuyen city. The cycling of this afternoon is on unique routes, taking you deep into towns where westerners rarely be seen. We rode our bike for an hour and a half to Chau Doc.
